Alpha Video Releases CastNET™ 4.0 Video and Web Communications Software

Minneapolis, MN, May 17, 2004 -- Alpha Video’s Digital Display Group has announced the latest release of its CastNET™ software for integrating video and Web communications.

The popular CastNET software provides the gaming industry, corporations, retail stores, the cable industry, schools and government the ability to convey information easily and effectively via digital signage and the Web.

CastNET 4.0 features a significant interface redesign and a conversion to Microsoft’s SQL 2000 database engine. “Our early customers tell us that CastNET 4.0’s streamlined interface has them creating and processing content faster than ever,” said Lance Hutchinson, Director of Alpha Video’s Digital Display Group. Hutchinson added, “The switch to SQL 2000 means that CastNET is now fully scalable, matching the needs of any size customer.”

In addition to these major enhancements, Alpha has improved CastNET’s emergency messaging feature and improved CastNET’s publishing engine. “These are two important improvements,” explained Hutchinson. “Now CastNET users can immediately interrupt all other content with an emergency message, and customers with multiple players can publish to as many or all of their players at once. Previously players were published individually. We are excited that all of CastNET 4.0’s new features further enhance our proud tradition of offering visual communication networks with the lowest cost of ownership.”

CastNET 4.0 also supports all new features in Scala’s InfoChannel 3 Release 6. CastNET is the complete Web-based, content management tool for InfoChannel 3, the world’s leading digital signage playback software.
